BPS Links Issues & Action Tracking & Six Sigma at GARP’s 9th Annual Risk Management Convention & Exhibition

New York, NY — March 4, 2008 — BPS, Inc., a leading provider of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software solutions, today announced that Mark Opausky, President & CEO of BPS, addressed the operational risk management community at the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) annual event held on February 26-27 in New York City.

With many of the world’s leading operational risk professionals in attendance, Mark Opausky presented, “Issues and Action Tracking – A Practical Point of Convergence in GRC,” which explored the uses of GRC software implementation to drive cultural change and add value to an organization’s risk management program.  One key concept of the presentation linked a centralized Issues and Action Tracking (IAT) system and control cost reduction within the organization’s GRC function.

“In addition to linking together the Audit, Compliance and OpRisk functions within an organization, “ said Mark Opausky “an effective IAT system can serve as a powerful way to identify and track cost optimization for operations using six sigma and other lean process change management strategies.”
